One
of the original rotary converters, made by English Electric, used to convert
the mains AC voltage to 440 volts DC. Seen here in 1926.
The
Mercury arc rectifiers replaced the rotary converters in 1960. This Photo has
been colored to give an idea of the blue glow that the rectifier gave off when
operating. These were again, later replaced with silicon diode rectifiers.
One
of the track relay control panels, as seen in 1927.
The
open type relays were replaced with glass type relays, to help prevent
the ingress of dust. Seen here in 1964.
The

The
old switch panel at Mount Pleasant, although not now used it has been left
for visitors to see.
